This is the End ... of Class 1, my Friends

Hey Everybody!

This is it. All my hard work in a one minute and five second clip. I think it turned out pretty good. There are a few things that you haven't seen yet. The personality walk: Stealth. And my balance pose. If the walk turned out dark on your monitor, I apologize for the inconvenience. It looks good on my quicktime video file, but when I uploaded it to the internet... it sucked all the light out of it... BOO! I hope you guys can see it.

Anyway, it's my time to say good bye to Class 1. I gotta say thank you to Aaron, my Professor, for being an amazing teacher and pushing my work to the next level.

Time for a nice week off! Enjoy the reel!

Oh so Tired... and Stealthy...

Oh man, what an exhausting week... Perfect segway to my Pose... Exhaustion. It was perfect timing... or not so perfect timing. Work is loading up like crazy and class 1 is wrapping up. The pressure is on! Anyway, here is my exhaustion pose, nothing more to say.

Next week, my personality walk and a balancing act. Talk to you soon.

Vanilla Walk and Concern

Hey Guys,

Week 9 all done! This week was a nice challenge, but not as hard as I thought. I successfully animated a standard or "Vanilla" walk. Aaron seemed to like it, not much critique, which is a good sign. Also, this weeks pose, Concern. This one was more challenging, but since I did so well with the story telling on my physical strength pose, I figure I would continue with it. I hope you guys enjoy. Next, adding some personality to my step and an exhausting week.

Physical Strength Posing

Hey Guys,

I'm a little late this week on the posting but work is ramping up and I'm finding little time to do anything else besides work and doing homework. So this is going to be a short post. This is my Physical Strength Pose. I wanted it to be a more interesting test besides a dude lifting something heavy, so I added a story element to make it more interesting. I think it was pretty successful. Next week, concern and some Vanilla walk Ice Cream. ;) Talk to you soon.

Taylor's Unfortunate Demise

Hey People,

Week 7 over and it was pretty fun. I took on the harder of the two challenges (either a one legged character jumping from A to B or a ball with a tail) and choose taylor... that little rat bastard of a ball squirrel thing. He wasn't that bad to animate, but my time line was riddled with some many red knotches, it look like a bloody mess. :) Anyway, I felt like expressing my love for the furry woodland creature and animating this test. ENJOY!

And here is my planning animation.

(I took out the tail vibration cause Aaron felt that it would sell the idea more and I think it really helped)

Next week, a physically strong walk cycle. Talk to you soon.

PONG!

Hello Again!

A new week and a new post. Here is my recent assignment, The Pendulum test. This was a fun assignment. Ii was much looser before, but my professor told me to tone it down a bit and I think it turned out fairly well. This assignments seems to bring back a bunch of good memories. I hope you enjoy. The next assignment will be a challenge, but hopefully it turns out well. Talk to you soon!

Devastated about an Obstacle Test

Hello Everybody,

I just finished week 5 and it was a doozy. This was a busy week. We had two new assignments and revisions to finish. Yea, busy busy. Well, it was a success. Aaron seemed to be pleased with my final products. Of course he had some feedback for me, but lucky it was only tweaky stuff. And he likes to give tweaky feedback.

The first assignment was a ball going through an obstacle course following the principles of timing, spacing, squash & stretch, and a little overlap. This was a really fun one and a huge challenge to try to keep it under 120 frames. As you can see, I didn't keep it under the 120 frame mark, but our professor told me that he would rather have a completed assignment that looked finished instead of an assignment that ended up to short.

Assignment #2 was a devastation pose. This is my second devastated pose and it turned out way better then the first. It took me awhile to find the correct position for the right hand, but when I did, it was a eureka moment. It just created a nice s-curve right down the pose and it just felt so much better. I hope you guys enjoy. Next week, a frustrated little pendulum. Talk to you soon.

Heavy & Light

Hey Guys,

Week 4 has come and gone. Here is my new assignment: The Heavy and Light ball test. Our goal was to demonstrate weight, timing and spacing. I spent a good amount of time and stress on this one, and I think it shows. I hope you guys enjoy. Next up, a very devastated course.... Talk to you soon!

Excitement!

Here is the the pose I promised, Excitement. This was a difficult one. Hard not to cliche and twin on this one, but I think I got a pretty sold pose. Next week, heavy/light ball bounce. Talk to you soon.

Bouncing ball

Here is the first animation assignment, A simple ball bounce. And man, it is harder then it looks. The most important of animation tests and I'm still trying to get a right feel for it. This is pretty much my final. I should have my excitement pose up shortly. Talk to you soon.

Update: new revisions

Final for Observation Pose... I think

Hey Guys,

Well, with great constructive feedback from Aaron and all my fellow peers, this should be the last of my observation pose. They really help me get the nice relaxed look I was going for. Next up, Excitement for a Ball Bounce. See you then!

Observation pose

Hello Everybody (HI Doctor Nic),

Well I'm in week two for Animation Mentor and I'm loving it. The student to student interaction is the best part about it. It's a huge community that is helping one another. It's awesome.

My first assignment is an Observation pose. We just go out and do some cafe sketching and then pose it with Stu. So I found some hipsters and they are the best people to draw. Anyway, if you have any feedback, shoot. I'm open to critiques. Thanks and I will have another post real soon.
